We Forgive But We Dont Forget
When a user submits a complaint on BadMarket.ng, they cannot delete it permanently at their own discretion. Instead, permanent removal of a complaint is decided by the community through a voting process. The community determines whether a complaint should be taken down or remain visible on the platform indefinitely.
Alternatively, users have the option to temporarily delete a complaint for a period of 5 days. After this period, the complaint will automatically reappear on the platform. To achieve permanent removal through this method, a user must repeat the temporary deletion process 20 times — totaling 100 days if done consistently.
This design serves two key purposes:
• To prevent coercion or emotional blackmail from the person or entity being called out.
• To promote genuine accountability and change. A deleted complaint should not be seen as a clean slate. The subject of the complaint must maintain consistent, meaningful engagement with the user, demonstrating sustained improvement and a commitment to change. On BadMarket.ng, forgiveness is not instant — it mirrors the real-world journey of healing from abuse, which often requires time and reflection.
We acknowledge that some complaints may be false. For this reason, we have a detailed voting and verification process, including a blue tick system, to uphold integrity.
Please note: Complaints cannot be permanently deleted at will.
