No More Silent Protest

NO MORE SILENT PROTEST

PERSONALLY,

And sadly I was loosing my ability to trust Africans in general, and especially Nigerians. I walked and talked to people with zero emotional attachment to what I was being told. I just never, for the life of me, could believe I was NOT being conned, duped or lured into a false pretense. AKA defrauded, 419, Wiyo! Suffice to say my guard is always up. But I am a Nigerian. What was I saying about about myself? Was I the only one feeling this way? Was I being looked at the way I looked upon others, distrustingly?

I am a peoples person… The type to say something and put money where my mouth is. Always eager to make a positive impact.

Ive seen the problem, it had to be pervasive, it had to be painful for the many victims and those who felt their truthfulness devalued in the cacophony of mal-intent.

The few, but potent, bad eggs had claimed the airwaves and made their nefarious activities compelling, indistiguishable. Meanwhile, the mostly honest masses were greatly ignored and felt pressured to join the gravy train, in order to survive in their trade.

There was no where Abiodun could make a complaint and action it for change. Law enforcement are overwhelmed internally and externally. People simply kept complaints to themselves while situations would deteriorate. Simply, it was a Bad Market for those affected, a Mad Market for onlookers.

A solution was devised. A social platform to propel complaints. Threaten bad individuals with social virality.  Like a torch being focused on nocturnal insects; force the criminals and their illicit lifestyle back into hiding. Entice those inclined towards honesty to return, bring back accountability, credibility and transparency.

Badmarket.ng is the website to pilot this pioneeing initiative. The aim is to use technology to facilitate actionable complaints. We use those complaints as identities of people and businesses that can be searched and referenced. Basically, it pays NOT to be posted on badmarket.ng.
